Cooking is my Business

Cooking (eating)... Here comes my favorite topic I can speak until I feel tired and thirsty.
I exactly don't know how and when I started loving cooking so much, I only remember eating my mom's food and watching her moving blissfully in the kitchen and serving us a wonderful homemade food. I evolved from an amateur girl cooking for herself to a cook, now I have an experience of cooking in an Indian restaurant, a food shop and various receptions and my food was appreciated by EVA (Ethisch Vegetarisch Alternatief) a vegetarian society from Belgium.

I believe my trip to Belgium made me passionate about food. I struggled in the beginning to manage with lessons, group assignments, keeping tract and buying groceries, cooking and cleaning. Unlike India most of the super markets are closed by 18.00 which I felt very strange as we have 24/7 supermarkets in India. It was a real challenge for me to get over my homesick feeling as I was never away from home and my parents were always by my side. Here in Belgium I was living alone,  I had to start my life right from scratch like making new friends, planning my career and adjusting to the culture.

I will never never forget my initial days in Gent how I missed India and how much I liked hanging out with my new friends almost from 50 countries around the globe.

IBM Day-1

Probably I am the last one to join the class.

I joined almost a month late, just a week before mid term break. I introduced myself to each teacher and my fellow students made me feel very comfortable. But no matter how hard I tried it was a difficult time for me to catch up with the lessons and assignments. There were definitely times where I faced difficulties catching up on some topics and my friends in the class were always there to help me. A Big thanks to all those who helped me get so far.

Early days in Belgium

I came to Belgium to do Master's and I successfully graduated with a Master's in Human nutrition from Ghent University. During my Master's I met some wonderful people from around the world. New country, new people, new culture It was confusing in the beginning but slowly and steadily I made my way through it and had lovely time with all those people.
